Another 41 on Japan Cruise Have New Coronavirus
Another 41 people on board a cruise ship off Japan's coast have tested positive for the new strain of coronavirus, local media including national broadcaster NHK said on Friday, 7 February, reports AFP.
The new cases raise to 61 the number of people on the Diamond Princess so far diagnosed with the new virus, which has killed more than 600 people -- most of them in mainland China where the strain emerged.
Ships Crews With Chinese Members Banned From Entry: Mumbai Port Trust
Chinese crew members of any ship docking into Mumbai are banned from travelling in the city, according to Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman, Mumbai Port Trust, reported ANI.
“If a ship with any Chinese crew member arrives, then our Public Health Officer (PHO) goes to the ship and checks it. They (crew members) have been banned from going on an excursion, they are not allowed to go to the city,” he said.
He added that a PHO attends to every ship, including ships coming for anchorage, which travelled to China in the past 14-15 days for thermal screening. These ships are also not allowed to dispose off any waste.
Two Chinese Nationals Admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, No NCov Symptoms
Two Chinese nationals have been admitted to the isolation ward of the state-run Gandhi Hospital, New Delhi as a precautionary measure after they approached it to be tested for presence of novel coronavirus (nCoV), health officials said on Thursday, 6 February, reports PTI.
Samples of 37 people, which had been tested for the virus so far, were negative, official sources said, adding that test results of 20 others were awaited.
The 20 people were under observation in two different state-run hospitals in the city.
