In a letter addressed to DMK party members, Working President MK Stalin on Tuesday took a jibe at actors-turned-politicians Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.

Attractive flowers bloom when there’s a change in the season and eventually they wither away. Similarly, in the Tamil political arena too attractive paper flowers may bloom. Paper flowers are not fragrant, are they? But the DMK is like the thousand-year crop. It is the Dravidian language pride; it is a food for the Tamil people’s rights. I give the assurance that everything will be done for the success of the movement!

His letter comes a day after Kamal Haasan met with both DMK chief Karunanidhi and Stalin at their residence.

However, this is not the first time someone has expressed concern over actors turning politicians and more parties being formed in Tamil Nadu.

Veteran actor Sathyaraj at the Conference on Protection of Social Justice on Sunday warned the actors to not think that they know everything.

Just by being a popular actor, one does not know everything. If he (the actor) thinks he knows everything, it is a mistake. If people think he knows everything, it is an even bigger mistake.

Ahead of his political tour, Kamal Haasan has been meeting political leaders in the city. He met superstar Rajinikanth at his Poes Garden residence in Chennai on Sunday. Following which, he also met DMDK leader Vijayakanth at his Koyambedu office.

Kamal Haasan is scheduled to launch his party in Madurai on Wednesday.

His 21 February itinerary includes the unveiling of his party flag and party name at Madurai, besides addressing public meetings at Ramanathapuram, and visiting Paramakudi and Manamadurai.

The star will address a series of meetings and will begin his political tour from former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s residence in Rameshwaram.

The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
