Inspired by Dravidian architecture, Karnataka Vidhana Soudha is one of Bengaluru’s most renowned landmarks.

The conceptualisation of the structure dates back to the times of former chief minister Kengal Hanumanthaiah. His idea behind the building was to symbolise the legislative sovereignty of people. The construction of the state secretariat and legislature was completed in the year 1956 at the cost of a whopping Rs 1.75 crore.

One of the main attractions among locals and tourists is the lighting up of the building on every Sunday. Visitors never miss noticing the inscription, “Government’s Work is God’s Work,” on the facet of the main entrance. The grace and grandeur of Vidhana Soudha has truly stood the test of time.
