In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court, on 22 August, struck down instant triple talaq, calling it “unconstitutional”.  When I set out to document stories of Muslim women who have been victims of instant Triple Talaq, I found it difficult to focus my lens on them. Their stories filled me up with disgust and anger. Instant Triple Talaq is un-Islamic, and so is Nikah Halala. The women and their stories of pain inspired me to pen a poem. I dedicate this to the women of my community.
