Gandhi Ji was a staunch proponent of non-violent protests to press democratic demands. From the Champaran Satyagrah to the Dandi March, and the Quit India Movement, Mahatma Gandhi led several peaceful protest marches across the length and breadth of the country.
The Dandi March, or the ‘Salt Satyagrah’, was a long march undertaken by Mahatma Gandhi and his followers. They walked over 390 kilometres to protest against the tax British imposed on salt.
But Gandhi Ji never got tired with the struggles. He kept on his protesting ways through all odds. After getting jailed for the first time at the age of 39, the last time he walked out of jail was at the age of 75.
All of us can learn some lessons from the way Mahatma Gandhi lived his life. His thoughts continue to inspire and guide us even today. The basic message for everyone remains the same – hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.
