A letter issued by the Punjab Inspector General of Police (Counter Intelligence) office said that according to input, the group of 6-7 terrorists were possibly in Punjab’s Ferozepur area, and were “planning to move towards Delhi.”

Police officials across the state have been asked to set up checkpoints at all important routes, conduct strict vehicle inspections and take suitable counter measures for all the sensitive locations, the letter said.

Police areas along the India-Pakistan border have also been asked to coordinate with the Border Security Force (BSF).

Officials have been advised to plan and implement precautionary measures to thwart any untoward incident, it said.
