CLAIM

An image of cops with suspected dog meat seized at a railway station is doing the rounds on social media with multiple claims.

Various users on Facebook are sharing the image claiming that it is from Bihar’s Bapudham Motihari Railway Station, and that 500 kg of dog meat was seized by the cops from there. The claim further suggests that the alleged dog meat was supposed to be supplied to various hotels in the area.

TRUE OR FALSE?

The Quint could confirm that the image is being shared with a misleading claim. While the incident did take place, the claim that it is from Bihar or Nashik is false. The image is actually from Chennai’s Egmore Railway Station where the police seized 2,190 kilograms of dog meat in 2018.
