The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has still not been able to locate the bodies of the two missing inmates from the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home, as part of its investigations into the sexual abuse of minor girls there. According to the latest tip-off from a shelter house employee, the bodies of two girls who had been killed, were stuffed in gunny bags and disposed of in Burhi Gandak river, Hindustan Times reported.

Earlier this year, news that at least 34 girls had been sexually exploited in the shelter house had surfaced on the media.

The most recent development came from a shelter house employee, Krishna Ram, who ran a press for Brajesh Thakur, the owner of the shelter house and also the main accused in the case. Ram had been arrested on 20 October and taken for interrogation, following which he said that the bodies of two female inmates had been stuffed in sacks and thrown into the river, over a year ago, the report added.

Ram further told the CBI that two inmates of Thakur’s NGO had died due to “mysterious circumstances” and that it was Thakur, who had ordered his driver, Vijay Tiwari and Guddu, another employee of the shelter house, to dump their bodies in the river from Akharaghat Bridgethat.

Although the agency has still not been able to locate the bodies, it had made a headway in the case on 4 October, when following a tip off from Tiwari, they had found human bones in a cremation ground. The CBI are yet to ascertain a DNA match, as they are still trying to locate the parents of the missing girls, the report stated.
