The Bihar Board of Secondary Education has promoted over 2 lakh students who were unable to clear one or two exams by providing them grace marks to avoid compartmental exams during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, reported the Hindustan Times.
According to the report, a total of 3,40,633 students had failed in Class 10 and Class 12 exams combined, from which 2,14,287 have been promoted. After allowing grace marks, 54.8 percent candidate’s have passed in Class 12 board exams and 68.07 percent have passed in the matriculation exam.
In the Class 12 exams, a total of 1,32,486 candidates failed which is further divided into 46,005 students in one subject and 86,481 in two subjects.
In the Class 10 exam, a total of 2,08,147 candidates had failed which is further divided to 1,08,459 students failing in one subject and 99,688 in two subjects.

The Bihar Class 12 board exam results were declared on 24 March and the matriculation results were announced 26 May.
