COVID-19 Lockdown: PM Modi to Hold Review Meet With CMs on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting, through video conference, with state Chief Ministers on Monday, 11 May, at 3 pm to discuss the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country, on Sunday neared the 63,000-mark with 3,277 new cases and 127 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Meanwhile, Centre has issued guidelines for restarting industries after lockdown in wake of Visakhapatnam tragedy.

398 Fresh Cases Reported in Gujarat in Last 24 Hrs

“In the last 24 hours, 398 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Gujarat. The total number of cases stands at 8,195 now, including 2,545 cured/discharged cases and 493 deaths,” the Gujarat Health Department stated, ANI reported.

Request Not to Lift Lockdown on Eid: Bengal Imams' Association Chief

“We wrote to West Bengal CM appealing her not to lift lockdown for Eid. If lockdown will be lifted due to Eid, hundreds of people will gather on street. This will increase COVID-19 cases. We can celebrate later, people should stay safe,” said Mohammad Yahiya,Chairman, Bengal Imams’ Association.

“Three more deaths including a 13-month-old child reported in Pune today, taking the death toll due to COVID-19 to 151 in the district,” said Pune Health Department, ANI reported.
