11 Women Missing From Second Home Run By Same Muzaffarpur NGO

11 women supposed to have been staying in the home in the Chhoti Kalyani area were found missing.

Following the “disappearance” of 11 women from the premises of a self-help group run by his NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti, a fresh FIR has been registered against Brijesh Thakur, the main accused in the Muzaffarpur shelter home case.

Thakur is in judicial custody under charges of mental, physical and sexual exploitation of the girls residing at Balika Grih, Muzaffarpur.

The fresh FIR was registered against Thakur last evening by Assistant Director of the Social Welfare Department Devesh Kumar Sharma.

After the sex scandal had surfaced last month and the NGO was black-listed, the condition of other homes run by the NGO was reviewed.

During the review, 11 women supposed to have been staying in the self-help group in the Chhoti Kalyani area here were found missing, officials said.

There was no communication on record from the NGO to the Social Welfare Department about their whereabouts, they said.

The NGO has previously been under fire for sexually and mentally exploiting girls.

CBI Takes Over Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Sexual Assault Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case on the request of the Bihar government and a further notification from the government of India, ANI reported on 29 July.

The CBI has taken over the investigation of the FIR of Mahila Police Station which was filed under sections 120(B), 376, 34 of the IPC and sections 4, 6, 8,10,12 of POCSO related to mental, physical and sexual exploitation of girl children residing at the children’s home at Sahu Road, Muzaffarpur (Bihar).

A case has been registered against officers and employees of Balika Grih Sahu Road, Muzaffarpur.
