- India’s High Commissioner to UK Navtej Sarna is set to head for Washington as Ambassador to the United States (US).
- The decision comes as Arun Singh, India’s current Ambassador to US, is due for retirement. It is learnt that India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha may replace Sarna in the UK.
- Sarna was also India’s Ambassador to Israel from 2008 to 2012. The 59-year-old diplomat was serving as Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs before he was posted to London in January this year.
