MHA Busts Hafiz Saeed-Led Finance Module Allegedly Funding Kashmir

A total of Rs 16.5 crores has been delivered to Kashmir through 156 accounts.

The Ministry of Home Affairs busted a Hawala finance module allegedly led by Hafiz Saeed, chief of Jama’at-ud-Da’wah, which has been pumping money into the Kashmir valley, Times Now reported.

A total of Rs 16.5 crores has been delivered to Kashmir through 156 accounts, 23 of which were allegedly directly or indirectly linked to the bank accounts of separatists.

Times Now reported that NSA Chief, Ajit Doval is probing into the issue.

Sources told Times Now that the money has travelled from Pakistan via Nepal or middle-eastern. The accounts were closed immediately after the money was received.

Areas around Amritsar has been put on high alert after usual movements of cash was noted in Punjab.
