The Ministry of External Affairs India on Friday rejected a Pakistan daily’s report, which claimed that India’s Foreign Secretary, in a recent meeting with German ambassador in New Delhi, had admitted that the news of the surgical strikes across the LoC by the Army was a bluff.

MEA spokesperson, Vikas Swarup in a statement shared through his official Twitter handle, lashed out at The News International – the Pakistan daily – for “concocting” the story on Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar, asserting that the entire report was “baseless”.

Swarup added that German Ambassador Dr Martin Ney was part of the group of foreign envoys briefed by the Foreign Secretary on 29 September on the surgical strikes and that "they have had no further conversation since on the subject."

The News International story quoting an official source claimed that the Indian foreign secretary in a recent meeting with the German ambassador in New Delhi had admitted that there was no "surgical strike" undertaken by the Indian Army.
