Manish Sharma, who had shot the chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council, Darvesh Kumari Yadav, in her chamber in Agra on 12 June died in Gurugram's Medanta Hospital on Saturday, 22 June, during treatment.
Sharma had shot himself in the head on the very same day of the incident.
He was shifted to the Medanta hospital for advanced treatment and was in a coma on ventilator support. He was declared dead on Saturday afternoon.
The two were rushed to the Pushpanjli hospital after the shooting, where doctors declared her dead.
Yadav was the first woman chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Bar Council.
Sharma was one of Yadav’s close associates. The two were meeting lawyers in their chambers to thank them for their support.
Some eye witnesses said that the two had heated arguments in senior lawyer Arvind Mishra's chamber, when Sharma lost his cool, pulled out his pistol and fired at Yadav from point blank range.
Yadav’s family members, meanwhile, demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder and alleged that Sharma had embezzled funds, which apparently led to her murder.
