A leopard entered Maruti Suzuki's plant in Manesar in Gurugram early on Thursday, following which police and forest officials cordoned off the premises and launched a search for the wild cat, the police said.

The leopard was found roaming inside the ‘Engine Department’ at around 4 am by a security personnel on duty.

The leopard has been captured by the forest officials after more than 30 hours of search operation.

The forest department even brought in few goats to lure the wild animal out of the factory premises.

Thousands of workers who arrived for the morning shift at around 7 am, had been asked to stand outside the plant due to safety concerns, a senior police officer said.

Private security personnel had also been asked to keep away from the plant, the officer said.

In April this year, a leopard entered a house in Sohna in the district and left five persons wounded.

Speaking to the media, Maruti Workers’ Union head Kuldeep Jhangu said that a leopard was spotted in the neighbouring village, Kasan, a few days prior.
