1. Mehbooba Mufti Hits Back, Says BJP Disowning Its Own Initiative as ‘Soft’

Less than a week after the BJP pulled out of the Mehbooba Mufti-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, a war of words has begun between the two former allies. While BJP president Amit Shah, on Saturday, accused the PDP of not honouring the Agenda of Alliance (AoA), the former chief minister hit back on Sunday, saying it was “sad” to see the BJP “disown their own initiative and label it a soft approach”.

“Many false charges levelled against us by our former allies. Our commitment to the Agenda of Alliance, co-authored by Ram Madhav & endorsed by senior leaders like Rajnath Ji never wavered. It is sad to see them disown their own initiative & label it a ‘soft approach’,” she tweeted.

2. Army Major Arrested for Murder of Colleague’s Wife

The Delhi Police arrested an Army officer, Major Nikhil Rai Handa (40), from Meerut on Sunday in connection with the murder of another Army Major’s wife in the Capital.

Shailza Dwivedi (35), wife of Major Amit Dwivedi, was found dead at Brar Square, near Delhi Cantonment Metro station, on Saturday. Police said her throat had been slit and, according to eyewitnesses, she was thrown out of a vehicle which then ran over her.

3. India’s R Praggnanandhaa Becomes World’s 2nd Youngest Chess Grand Master

India’s R Praggnanandhaa has become the country’s youngest and the world’s second youngest Grand Master at the age of 12 years, 10 months and 13 days after reaching the final round of the ongoing Grendine Open in Italy.

4. DU Cut offs Dip 5% in 2nd List

The second cutoff list released by Delhi University on Sunday evening saw some colleges reporting a dip of as much as 5 percentage points from the first list for some humanities courses. However, most colleges limited their dips to about 2 percentage points on average, with off-campus colleges and those on campus which struggled with admissions in the first list recording the most difference. On the other hand, popular colleges like Lady Shri Ram, Ramjas, and Shri Ram College of Commerce have no seats left in their coveted humanities programmes.

6. Delhi Participates in ‘Chipko’ Movement to Save 14,000 Trees from Felling
