Lakshadweep Reports First COVID Case on 18 Jan, 14 Positive, 56 in Quarantine: Health Min

Lakshadweep reported its first case of COVID on 18 January. The person had come to Lakshadweep from Kochi on Jan 4. Initially, 31 primary contacts of the case traced& quarantined of which 14 tested positive&isolated. 56 contacts of positive cases traced&quarantined, reported ANI, citing the Health Ministry.

Further the Health Ministry, according to ANI, said a Central multi-disciplinary team comprising of experts from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry; National Institute of Virology, Pune and Regional Office of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare were sent to Lakshadweep.

A Delhi Court discharged three AAP MLA in a case registered in 2017 for allegedly manhandling and abusing a woman in the assembly premises. The court finds no prima facie case is made out against accused persons and discharged them from all charges, reported ANI.
