Brazil’s Ex-President, Leftist Icon Lula Walks Free From Jail
Brazil's leftist icon Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva walked free from jail Friday after a year and a half behind bars for corruption following a court ruling that could release thousands of convicts.
The former president, wearing a black T-shirt and suit jacket, pumped his fist in the air as he exited the federal police headquarters in the southern city of Curitiba and was quickly mobbed by hundreds of supporters and journalists.

Islamic State Claims Deadly Tajik Attack as Doubts Swirl
The Islamic State group on Friday claimed responsibility for a deadly attack against a Tajik border post this week, but Central Asia watchers cast doubt on the jihadists' claim as well as official Tajik statements on the incident.
"By the grace of Allah the Almighty, the soldiers of the Caliphate attacked a border guard post of the Tajik apostates in the Ishkobod area, near the Tajik-Uzbek border," the IS group said in a statement released online.
Tajik authorities on Wednesday said that fifteen jihadists were killed during an attack on a border post that officials blamed on members of the Islamic State group who crossed over from Afghanistan.

At Least 10 Died After Vehicle Hit Divider in Andhra Pradesh
At least 10 people died after a vehicle hit a divider and other vehicles in Bangarupalem Mandal of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. The injured people have been admitted to hospital. Rescue operations are underway.

'Show Faith in Judiciary': Jama Masjid Imam Ahead of Ayodhya Verdict
Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari on Friday, 8 November, issued a statement ahead of the probable Ayodhya verdict, urging people to “demonstrate faith in the judiciary.”
“Though passions on both sides are running high, but I would urge the Indian conscience to exercise restraint and demonstrate faith in the judiciary,” the statement read.
