PM Modi to Embark on 3-Day Visit to UAE, Bahrain from 23 August

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day visit to United Arab Emirates and Bahrain beginning 23 August, and hold extensive talks with top leaders of the two countries on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.

CBI Books Ratul Puri, Former Senior Moser Baer Executives in Bank Fraud Case

The CBI has booked Ratul Puri, nephew of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, and the then Executive Director of Moser Baer and others in connection with a Rs 354-crore bank fraud case, officials said on Sunday.

Besides Puri, the company and four other directors have been booked by the central agency in connection with the case, they said.

Triple Talaq a Malpractice And Needed to End

“Triple Talaq was a malpractice, there is no doubt about it in anybody's mind. Some parties opposed the bill in Parliament but deep inside their heart they knew it was a malpractice that needed to end but they didn't have the courage to do it,” Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Constitutional Club of India.

Speaking further on the bill he said, “I would like to make it clear that the triple talaq (Bill) is only for the benefit of the Muslim community, not for anything else. Hindus, Christians, and Jains are not going to benefit by it because they never had to suffer due to it.”
