Fuel Prices Maintain Upward Trend, Petrol Increased by Rs 0.11 in Delhi
Fuel prices on Tuesday maintained their upward trend, with a marked increase petrol and diesel prices in Delhi and Mumbai.
In Delhi, petrol increased by Rs 0.11 at Rs 82.83 per litre, whereas diesel was priced at Rs 75.69 per litre (increase by Rs 0.23). Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai are Rs 88.29 per litre (increase by Rs 0.11) and Rs 79.35 per litre (increase by Rs 0.24), respectively.

An 18-year-old engineering student committed suicide in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, ANI reported. Police told ANI that he committed suicide after witnessing a road accident, and the soul of the deceased was haunting him.

Three Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans were injured in an Improved Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district Tuesday, local police told PTI.

Russia, Pakistan to Hold Joint Military Drills

Servicemen from the two countries' armed forces will perform tasks at an altitude of 1,400 metres above sea level, the report said. Russia and Pakistan have been holding the "Friendship" drills since 2016.

In a boost to the BJP, two Congress MLAs, who resigned from the Goa Assembly, are set to join the saffron party amid its vigorous efforts to strengthen the thin majority of its alliance government in the state.

Pompeo Meets Saudi King Over Missing Journalist
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh on Tuesday over the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi as diplomatic pressure mounted on Riyadh to give a fuller explanation in the case.
Pompeo's visit came as Saudi Arabia was preparing to acknowledge that Khashoggi was killed during an interrogation that went wrong.

At Least 6 Dead in Morocco Train Crash
A train derailed near the Moroccan capital killing at least six people and injuring more than 70 others on Tuesday, local public television 2M said.

Militants Abduct 14 Iranian Border Guards Near Pakistan border
Militants in Iran abducted 14 members of a border security force near the Pakistan border on Tuesday, Iranian media reported, in the latest blow to the country's powerful Revolutionary Guard.
The reports quoted an unnamed but informed source as saying two of abducted are members of the powerful Revolutionary Guard's intelligence department. The rest include seven members of the Basij force, a volunteer wing of the Guard, as well as regular Iranian border guards.

India, UAE to Deepen Defence Cooperation
India and the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday agreed to deepen their defence cooperation in a range of areas including military-to-military exchanges, training of personnel and defence production, officials said.
The decision was taken during talks between Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the UAE's Minister of State for Defence Affairs Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falacy.

Activists of the Shiv Sena Dogra Front (SSDF) on Tuesday staged a protest, demanding registration of a sedition case against former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti for saying slain Hizbul Mujahideen commander Manan Wani was a "victim of relentless violence".
Led by their leader Ashok Gupta, dozens of SSDF activists took out a rally and raised slogans demanding registration of FIR against all those who came forward in support of Wani.

A bus accident in West Bengal's Hooghly district on Tuesday left five people dead and 22 injured, police said.
An eyewitness, who helped in the rescue operation, said: "We saw the bus hitting the cement fencing of the bridge, before toppling over and falling into the canal. We broke the window glasses and helped the injured come out of the bus."

Pompeo To Hold Talks in Turkey on Wednesday
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will hold talks in Turkey on Wednesday, Turkey’s foreign ministry said. The talks will be held after Pompeo’s visit to Riyadh, where the top American diplomat was discussing the case of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Pompeo will meet his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu to discuss bilateral and regional issues including Syria, the Turkish foreign ministry said in a statement.

Two Pilots Killed in Ukraine Fighter Jet Crash
Ukraine's General Staff said on Tuesday that two pilots died when a Sukhoi fighter jet crashed during large-scale military exercises with the United States and other NATO countries.
"A Sukhoi-27 plane crashed at around 5:00pm local time (1400 GMT) during a training flight," the General Staff said on its Facebook page, adding that "the bodies of the two pilots have been found."
