Inter-State Council Reconstituted With PM as Chairman
The Inter-State Council, which is mandated to investigate and advise on disputes between states, has been reconstituted with PM Narendra Modi as its chairman and six Union ministers and all chief ministers as members.
According to a notification, the Union ministers who will be members of the reconstituted council are Amit Shah (Home), Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance), Rajnath Singh (Defence), Narendra Singh Tomar (Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj).
Other members are: Thaawar Chand Gehlot (Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment) and Hardeep Singh Puri (Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs).

Indian Army Foils Infiltration Attempt by Terrorists Backed by Pak Army: Sources
The Indian Army on Tuesday night foiled a major infiltration attempt by terrorists backed by the Pakistan Army in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, army sources cited by ANI said on Wednesday. The infiltration push was backed by heavy firing from Pakistan Army posts, they said.
Invited Russian Investors in Defence Sector to UP: Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that he has invited Russian investors in the defence sector for setting up units in the state during his tour to that country.
Adityanath was part of a 190-member delegation led by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal that visited Russia recently.
