Operational Independence of RBI Important: IMF
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday, 13 December, said "operational independence" of central banks like the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was important for carrying out their responsibilities.
IMF Director Gerry Rice said this in response to a question on the recent developments at the RBI. He, however, added that his views were in the context of international experiences.

Maoist Wanted for 13 Years Arrested in Jharkhand Medininagar
A member of the proscribed CPI (Maoist), wanted for 13 years, has been arrested from a village in Palamau district, police said Friday.
The self-styled sub-zonal commander of the outfit, identified as Mukhdev Yadav, was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head, the police said.
A team comprising CRFP and district police personnel arrested Yadav from Dhobidih-Gulabjhari village under the jurisdiction of Chhatarpur police station on Thursday evening, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Palamau district, Inderjit Mahata said.

SC Dismisses Petition on Probe Against MCI
