One Soldier Killed, Another Injured In An Encounter With Terrorists in J&K's Pulwama
Army Jawan Baljeet Singh lost his life in an encounter with terrorists in Pulwama earlier today. An encounter between terrorists and security forces in Ratnipora area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir occurred on Tuesday, 12 February morning.
Another jawan was injured in action during the encounter with terrorists. One terrorist was also neutralised.

Akhilesh Yadav Allegedly Stopped At Airport
Samajwadi Party president Monday alleged he was being stopped at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow by police in a bid to prevent him from visiting Allahabad to attend an oath-taking ceremony at Allahabad university.
"The government is so afraid of oath ceremony of a student leader that it is stopping me at the airport to prevent me from visiting Allahabad," Akhilesh on Twitter.
When asked, the airport director AK Sharma said, "He had no such information." Ramgopal Yadav added, “I directly blame the CM. Akhilesh had the permission. It was at the directions of the CM that he was stopped. They didn’t even let him reach Allahabad.”

Hizbul Militant, Soldier Killed in Encounter
A Hizbul Mujahideen militant, who helped Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Naveed Jatt escape from police custody at a hospital last year, was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district today in which a soldier also lost his life, police said.
Based on a credible input about the presence of militants in Ratnipora area of Pulwama, a cordon and search operation was launched in the intervening night, a police spokesman said.

6-Year-Old Boy From Tn Electrocuted in Hyderabad
A six-year-old boy was electrocuted while playing in a residential township in Hyderabad, police said today.
On Monday, the first standard student was playing with his friends when he reportedly came into contact with a live wire near a lamp-post and got electrocuted, the police said.
A CCTV footage showed the boy collapsing near the lamp-post. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said.
HC Rejects PIL Seeking Status of Transfer Orders Issued by CBI's Nageswara Rao
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed a PIL seeking a direction to CBI to indicate the status of transfer orders issued by the agency's interim director M Nageswara Rao to officers of various ranks including a Superintendent of Police.
A bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V K Rao declined to entertain the matter, saying the person aggrieved by the orders should move the court and there was no public interest in it.
"Let the aggrieved person come to court," the bench said, adding that the appropriate forum would be the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

A top leader of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand, carrying a cash reward of Rs 1.25 crore on his head, has offered to surrender before Telangana police along with his wife, also a maoist, official sources said today.
The surrender of B Sudhakar, a native of Telangana, who is now a central committee member of CPI(Maoist) and the chief of CPI (Maoists) in Jharkhand was in process, they said adding Sudhakar's wife Nilima carries a reward of Rs 10 lakh on her head.
"They expressed their desire to surrender. Discussions are underway. We are expecting the duo's surrender soon," a senior Telangana Police official told PTI.

Several Shanties Gutted in Massive Fire in Delhi's Paschim Puri
A massive fire broke out at a slum in Delhi’s Paschim Puri area late Tuesday night, engulfing several shanties in the blaze. No casualty has been reported so far.
