British MPs Vote Against All Brexit Alternative Plans
British MPs voted against four possible alternative plans for Brexit on Tuesday, 2 April after also rejecting the government's deal with the EU three times.
Proposed alternatives for retaining much closer economic ties after Brexit, holding a second referendum or stopping Brexit to prevent a no-deal departure all failed to win a majority of votes in parliament.

US Suspends F-35 Deliveries to Turkey over Russian Arms
The United States said it was halting all deliveries and joint work with Turkey on the F-35 fighter jet programme after the NATO ally insisted on a major purchase from Russia.
After months of warnings, the United States said that Turkey's decision to buy Russia's S-400 system was incompatible with remaining part of the emblematic US warplane program.

The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) has arrested ex-Chairman of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Service (IL&FS) Hari Sankaran arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into the affairs of the company.
NSUI, ABVP Trade Barbs over April Fools' Day
A war of words ensued between the NSUI and the BJP-backed ABVP today, with the two taking potshots at each other over the April Fools' Day.
The Congress-affiliated students' outfit wrote letters to President Ram Nath Kovind urging him to declared 1 April as "Modi Fools Day". It said, in the last five years Prime Minister Narendra Modi has "fooled the people of the country" and "played" with its future.
Hitting back, ABVP's Shakti Singh, who is also the DUSU president, said the NSUI has always done the job of fooling students and the Congress has been fooling the country. "Rahul Gandhi has been declared national fool," he said.
