1. 2019 Lok Sabha Polls: Raj Says Ambani Endorsement of Deora Shows BJP on Its Way Out

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said that industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s endorsement of Congress candidate Milind Deora is an indication of which way the political wind was blowing.

In his rally speech at Kalachowkie, a part of Mumbai South constituency, where Congress candidate Deora is fighting the elections, Thackeray said Ambani’s endorsement is not just for Deora alone. “This means that Mukesh Ambani will vote for the Congress. This is not confined to South Mumbai alone, but is a message for the whole of India that the BJP is on its way out. This message is that the BJP will not come back to power again. Modi will not become the Prime Minister again,” said Thackeray.

According to sources, IIT Bombay submitted a report on 30 CR FOBs on its suburban network on Monday. The railways are studying the reports and will start repairs as per the findings. “The reports have not asked for a shutdown of many FOBs – we have already shut down bridges that the report mentions should be examined”, an official said.

On the previous hearing, the BMC had informed the court that if the project is on hold, the state will incur a loss of Rs 10 crore per day. The High Court was hearing a petition filed by city-based architect Shweta Wagh and eight other petitioners, stating that the ongoing reclamation is not only illegal but will also irreversibly alter the coastal morphology, biodiversity and traditional ecological practices.

Dismissing a petition accusing the government of illegally “doling out” permissions, the High Court on Monday said the permission granted to a company to build a drive-in theatre along with certain amenities at Bandra Kurla Complex was not processed with undue haste.
