1. Telangana Helps Odisha Restore Power Supply
The electricity restoration works undertaken by the employees of Telangana state’s power utilities in the Fani-affected areas in Odisha have proven fruitful so far. Electrical lines of 34 km were laid in an effort to restore power supply in the vicinity of Bhubaneshwar on Tuesday.
The cyclone Fani caused large-scale damage to electrical poles, transformers, and power transmission lines, thereby affecting power supply in 16 districts in Odisha.
Subsequently, the Odisha government asked the Telangana state government for its help in restoring power in the state.

2. Fly Over Hyderabad’s Traffic Mess: Road Clear for Key Projects
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has set a deadline of a year to complete several key flyovers which are part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP). The flyovers, planned keeping in mind future needs of the city, are expected to ease traffic woes.
Among the flyovers that are expected to be completed are the Bairamalguda right-hand side (RHS) flyover, which is set to be ready by 2020.

3. GHMC, Water Board to Take up RWHS Maintenance
Rain Water Harvesting Structures (RWHS) constructed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) in various public places, government offices and residential colonies are crying for attention due to lack of maintenance.
After the construction of RWHS a few years ago for conservation of rain water they were left in the lurch due to lack of maintenance by the departments concerned.

4. KCR Must Take Action On Amberpet Incident: Mohammed Azharuddin
Former Congress MP and Telangana Congress working president Mohammed Azharuddin blamed GHMC for demolishing the 200-year-old Ek Khana mash=jid at Amberpet and demanded that a mosque be reconstructed at the same site.
He wondered if the Charminar would be pulled down by the authorities.

5. Monsoon May Hit Telangana 6 Days Late
The monsoon is likely to hit Kerala on June 4, three days behind schedule. It will hit Telangana state four to six days late, according to Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency.
Skymet said the onset date for Andhra Pradesh was not clear because of its proximity to the Bay of Bengal where many weather systems could change frequently. The agency said there would not be heavy rains during the onset unlike every year, which is an usual phenomenon. Scanty rains would prevail in the first half of June and pick up later. Heavy rain is expected in July everywhere, including in Telangana state.
