1. Firm Dupes 7 Lakh People of Rs 1,000 Crore, Busted

The Cyberabad police on Tuesday busted Noida based eBiz.com Pvt Ltd, which reportedly ran a money circulation scheme that has collected over Rs 1,000 crore from seven lakh customers after promising to pay them high returns and commission for getting new customers.

The Cyberabad police arrested Hitik Malhan, 31, who runs the business and has frozen Rs 70.5 crore in the bank accounts of the company on Tuesday.

2. Water Crisis to Impact 10,000 Consumers

Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board managing director M Dana Kishore on Tuesday said that the water board would compensate 50 million gallons a day (MGD) from Singur/ Manjeera with water from the Godavari river, Osman Sagar and Himayathsagar reservoirs.

However, 10,000 consumers residing in Rajendernagar, Serilingampally and Kukatpally areas would suffer, as the board had a shortfall of 5 million gallons a day.

3. Undertrial Escapes From Hospital

An undertrial prisoner, who was admitted to Gandhi Hospital’s prisons ward, escaped from there on Monday. Pasupu Vikky (25) used a saw to cut the bathroom ventilator grill and squeezed out from there. He scaled down the hospital building from the second floor through the water pipe.

A senior official of the Telangana Prisons’ Department said that Vikky, who was booked under sections 498-A (Domestic violence) and 307 (Attempt to murder) of the IPC, was lodged in Cherlapally jail in December last year.

4. 10-Storey Hotel Built Illegally at Kapadia Lane, Claim Residents

Residents of Somajiguda are raising a stink over the alleged illegal construction of a hotel, as well as illegal parking and illegal encroachment on a road.

Kapadia Lane is home to IK London Residency Hotel, which has built additional floors illegally, they claim.

5. 90 Squads to Monitor Code Violation in Hyderabad

Flying squads and static surveillance teams have been formed to monitor violations of the model code of conduct within Hyderabad city, which houses three Lok Sabha constituencies — Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Malkajgiri — said police commissioner Anjani Kumar.

Each Lok Sabha constituency has 15 flying squads and 15 static surveillance teams, making a total of 90 teams exclusively to monitor the violations of the code of cnduct by political parties, their candidates and supporters.
