1. Quack Held for Raping, Impregnating Minor
A quack has been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl on the pretext of treating her wisdom tooth. The incident came to light after the girl discovered that she was pregnant, said the police.
The accused, identified as Pankaj Goswami (42), was arrested on Wednesday, 5 December.
“The family of the girl approached us and got an FIR lodged against Goswami on Wednesday, following which, he was arrested. He claims to be a doctor and provides homemade medicines for minor ailments. However, we have learnt that he is a quack and doesn’t have any medical degree,” a police officer said.

2. One Dead, Another Injured in Shooting Outside Noida Bank
A 30-year-old man was killed and another injured after unidentified assailants opened fire at them outside a bank in Sector 46 on Thursday, 6 December. Police suspect personal rivalry to be the motive behind the incident that took place around 7:30 pm, outside the branch of HDFC bank.
“The deceased was identified as Anil and the injured as Harinath. Both men go by single names. They were walking by when the two assailants, who came on a motorcycle, shot them. Both victims sustained at least one bullet to the head,” senior superintendent of police Ajay Pal Sharma said.
Police said the incident was reported by the manager of the bank and a police team was at the spot by 8 pm.

3. Canadian Invited Home and Molested, 2 Men Arrested
Bangur Nagar police on Thursday, 6 December, arrested a man and his friend for allegedly molesting a 24-year-old Canadian woman on Wednesday night after befriending her and a friend at a pub.
According to the police, the Canadian woman and her friend have been in India for the past one month.
She met the accused, Amardeep Singh Chaudhary (29), at a pub in Bandra (West). She was accompanied by a male friend who has been travelling with her in India.

4. Man Hatches Plot to Kill Eight, But Kills Wife First to ‘Save’ Her
A 37-year-old swimming instructor was arrested for allegedly killing his wife by first giving her electric shocks and then strangling her, in Outer Delhi’s Mundka last week.
Initial police investigation revealed that the accused, Rajiv Kumar, was hatching a plot to kill eight people, including his former girlfriend. Police said he decided to kill his wife, Sonia (28), as well, as he was worried about her fate after he committed the murders. Kumar, a native of Haryana’s Jind, and Sonia have a four-year-old son.
Additional DCP (Outer) Rajinder Singh Sagar has confirmed the incident. “Kumar was first arrested on charges under the Arms Act and sent to judicial custody. An FIR of murder was registered later… we are seeking a police remand to ascertain the exact sequence of events,” he said.

5. Man Kills Wife, Self as 11-Year-Old Son Watches
A 34-year-old man stabbed his wife to death, before committing suicide, as their 11-year-old son watched, in Mahabaleshwar, on Thursday, 6 December.
According to police, Anil Shinde, who worked as a driver in Pune, his wife Seema, 30, and their son were visiting the hill station, around 260 km from Mumbai.
“After returning to their hotel room in the night, the couple had a heated argument around 1:15 am. The boy, who was asleep, woke up to the noise and saw his father stabbing his mother with a knife. The man then slit his own throat,” police said.
The 11-year-old ran out of the room to call for help. The hotel staff informed the police and the couple was taken to a hospital, where they were declared dead, police said.

6. ‘Sexual Assault’ on 4-Year-Old By Classmate
In an unusual incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted sexually by a classmate of the same age in a private school in outer Delhi's Ranhola. The matter came to the notice of police on Wednesday, 5 December, when the girl’s parents filed a complaint upon which a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered.
On Thursday morning, demanding action against the institution’s staff, the girl’s parents and around 50 people, including parents and relatives of other students, gathered at the school.
They entered the school building saying they wanted to meet the principal, but misbehaved with the staff members, and even vandalised the premises.

7. Seven-Year-Old Dies After Auto Hits Her in Diva; Driver on Run
A seven-year-old girl died after a speeding rickshaw driver lost control over the wheel and ran the vehicle into her while she was walking with her mother in Diva on Wednesday, 5 December.
The Class 2 girl, Siddhi Sanjay Kasale and her mother were heading home from school on Mhatre Gate Road in Diva when the rickshaw driver lost control. He hit Kasale who was walking on the side of the road. She started bleeding profusely. The driver rushed them to Kalsekar Hospital in Mumbra.
K Pasalkar, senior inspector, Mumbra police station, said, “The girl was declared dead at the hospital. The driver who was at the hospital escaped soon after that.”

8. Ponzi Scheme: 2,100 Investors Duped of Rs 10 Crore, Six Arrested
The Thane Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has arrested three people for running a ponzi scheme and cheating over 2,100 investors of Rs 10 crore.
The accused have been identified as Shivaji Nikarde and Ganesh Hazare, chairman and managing director of Aatharv4U Infra And Agro Limted company, respectively. The other directors, Lukman Shaikh, Sachin Gosawi, Mukesh Sudesh and Sulindra Chavan, were also arrested.
The company lured investors from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane by offering them lucrative returns on their investment, at 15-18 percent interest rates within three years.

9. Man Stabbed to Death in Northwest Delhi, 2 Held
A man in his late 30s was allegedly stabbed to death by two people, including a juvenile, following an an altercation on Thursday, 6 December, in northwest Delhi's Mahendra Park area, police said.
The accused, Kapil (19) and the juvenile, have been arrested and the knife used in the crime has been recovered, police said, adding Kapil is a resident of Mahendra Park area.
The deceased has been identified as Tejpal, a resident of Azadpur and native of Etah district in Uttar Pradesh. He used to work as a guard in a factory, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Aslam Khan said.
