1. Man Kills His Friend for Not Giving Him Water, Arrested: Police
A 20-year-old man was killed allegedly by his friend over a bottle of water in northwest Delhi’s Bharat Nagar, late on Wednesday, 11 July. DCP (northwest) Aslam Khan said the accused, Gaurav, has been arrested and booked for murder. Police said the victim, Sagar alias Ali, a resident of Jahangirpuri’s MCD Colony, was going to meet his aunt in Wazirpur when he was stabbed.
A 12-year-old who claimed to have witnessed the incident claimed that Gaurav assaulted Sagar when he refused to give him a bottle of water. “Gaurav got angry and a scuffle broke out between the two. However, Gaurav started bleeding from the nose and fled,” claimed the 12-year-old.

2. Locked By Daughter for 10 Days, 101-year-old Woman Rescued Near Ludhiana
A 101-year-old Krishna Dasi, who was locked by her daughter for the past 10 days at her house in Gujjarwal village, about 30km from Ludhiana, was rescued by the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) on Thursday, 12 July.
The raid at the house resulted in an emotional reunion of the 101-year-old with her 60-year-old son, who had abandoned her for not giving him his share of property many years ago.
The woman’s daughter locked her in the house and left for Phillaur saying that she had to attend to her husband who had been operated upon.
Chief judicial magistrate-cum-secretary, DLSA, Gurpreet Kaur said they got information that the elderly woman, who has a fading eyesight and is in frail health, was being fed by neighbours in the village from a small window of the house as her daughter had not returned for the last 10 days.

3. Husband, In-laws Force Woman Cop to Drink Acid
A woman constable working with the Rachkonda cyber crime police was forced to drink floor cleaning acid by her husband and in-laws, the Alwal police said on Wednesday. They were demanding additional dowry from her family, despite taking Rs 3 lakh cash and four tolas gold at the time of her marriage.
Alwal police has registered a case and is searching for the accused.
Constable C Rajini, 30, a resident of Bhudevinagar in Alwal, works with the Rachakonda cyber crime police station in LB Nagar. She had married one Om Prakash, also of Alwal, on 23 November 2017.

4. Man Masturbates Outside Girls’ Hostel In Guwahati, Woman Posts Video On Facebook
A man masturbating outside a hostel in Guwahati was caught on camera by a young woman, who posted the video on her social media account.
In the video that was widely shared online, the man, who works as a security guard in a nearby automobile showroom, is seen masturbating near the hostel in Ganeshguri area of the city.
“It’s very disgusting when you come across this thing early morning at 5:30 am. I don’t feel safe to open my window because of this guy,” the woman wrote on her timeline according to screengrabs doing rounds on local news websites.

5. Two More Minors Gang-raped in MP, Third Escapes Assault Bid
Two cases of gang rape were reported from Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, while two youth were arrested for attempting to rape a young girl in Sheopur district, exposing the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
In Tikamgarh district, a girl was gang-raped by a few locals in a forest who dumped her in the jungle after the incident, taking her to be dead.
According to the police, the girl was on her way to the police station after some locals fought with her family and attacked them. As she made her way through the jungle, the attackers intercepted her and raped her on Wednesday.

6. Indian Doctor Jailed for Molesting 4 Women at Rooftop Pool in Singapore
An Indian doctor, on holiday with his family in Singapore, was jailed today for two weeks for molesting four women in a swimming pool at a popular tourist spot at Marina Bay Sands hotel complex.
Jagdeep Singh Arora, 46, was charged with molesting two of them, while the two other charges were taken into consideration, according to media reports.
Arora, on holiday with his wife and daughter, touched the buttocks of four women between 9 pm and 9.30 pm on 28 June in the pool, reported Channel News Asia.

7. "Godman" Arrested for Allegedly Kidnapping Minor
A self-styled godman was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl in Rajasthan's Jalore district, the police said on Wednesday.
The girl was found and produced yesterday before the Jodhpur High Court, which, after hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by the victim's family, handed her over to them.
A habeas corpus plea is a petition which is filed to ensure a person under arrest is brought before a court which will determine whether the detention is legal.
The accused 'godman' Mohanram alias Mohan Bhagat had allegedly kidnapped a 17-year-old girl in Sedwa village of Barmer on May 26, following which the family members had lodged a complaint.

8. 7-year-old Boy's Body Found in Uttar Pradesh With Hands, Legs, Tongue Cut Off
The mutilated body of a seven-year-old boy was found in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli on Wednesday, police said.
According to Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar, Sameer was strangulated to death while his hands, legs and tongue were cut off by the unidentified attackers. The body was found in a field in Adarsh Mandi police station area in Shamli.
The minor was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday while he was playing outside his house, police said.
A case against unidentified people was registered and the boy's body was sent for postmortem, they added. Four police teams were constructed to trace the culprits, police said further.

9. 27-year-old Deaf and Mute Man Makes Video Calls to Women Posing Naked, Arrested
A 27-year-old man, suffering from speech and hearing impairment, was arrested on Wednesday by the city police for allegedly making video calls to two women, posing nude.
Like the accused, the women who lodged their complainant were also reported deaf and mute.
Amol Gaikwad, who works in a hotel, was arrested from Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, said Jitendra Singh, Superintendent of Police, Indore Cyber Cell.
Two hearing - and speech - impaired women had lodged a complaint last month that an unidentified man, posing naked with a mask on the face, was making video calls to them through WhatsApp and Emoji applications.
