1. Doctors Remove Bike Handle Piece from Woman’s Uterus, Cops Arrest Husband

Doctors at a hospital in Indore on Tuesday removed a six-inch piece of plastic of a bike handle from a woman’s uterus that her husband had allegedly inserted two years ago, police said.

According to the 36-year-old tribal woman’s complaint on Sunday, her husband’s atrocity had left her in unbearable pain for the past two years. The accused who works with a music band was arrested after the complaint.

“The woman, a resident of Dhar district, who is a mother of six kids, was married to the accused about 15 years ago in Dhar district, 251 km west of Bhopal,” said Chandan Nagar police station in-charge Rahul Sharma.

2. Woman ‘Bludgeons Daughter to Death’ with Rock, Arrested

A woman allegedly bludgeoned her 19-year-old daughter to death in a fit of rage over constant arguments at their home in Baramati town on Tuesday. The woman was later arrested.

An FIR was registered at Baramati police station. According to the police, the woman had a heated argument with her daughter in the morning, during which she hit her with a large rock on the head. The daughter is suspected to have died on the spot, a police officer said.

Narayan Shirgaonkar, Deputy Superintendent of Police for Baramati Division of Pune Rural Police, said: “According to preliminary information, the daughter had eloped with a man last September and had reportedly married him. She lived with him for a couple of months and returned to her parents’ home after a dispute. She also got a case of rape registered against him.”

3. Man Kills Self in Gurugram, Police Book Two for Abetment

A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Bilaspur on Monday. The police have booked two suspects on charges of abetment to suicide after recovering a note allegedly written by the victim. The police said the victim wrote that he was committing suicide under duress from two persons to whom he had lent money.

According to the police, the incident took place around 3.30 pm when the victim was alone at his house. Rajender,SHO, Bilaspur police station, said, “His wife said that he had been stressed over the issue. A suicide note, in which the victim has allegedly named the suspects, was recovered from the spot. The suspects are yet to be arrested,” said SHO.

4. Nigerian Man, Woman Accomplice Held for ATM Fraud: Mumbai Police

A Nigerian national was arrested from Kandivali on Sunday for allegedly fitting a skimmer on an ATM machine to carry out fraudulent transactions. He was identified as 34-year-old Isahi Soi. Later, police arrested his accomplice, Rosie Maggie, a 37-year-old Nigerian woman.

The ATM in Kandivali East belongs to a private bank. Bank officials detected the skimmer on Saturday night and lodged a police complaint.

A skimmer is an illegal device fitted by fraudsters over the card slot of an ATM. When a customer inserts his card, the card details are copied onto the skimmer, allowing fraudsters to clone the card and carry out illegal transactions. “We kept a watch near the spot and waited for the accused to show up,” said Raju Kasbe, senior inspector, Samta Nagar police station.

5. 19-Yr-Old Youth Attacked with Sharp Weapons in Pune

A group of 11 youths attacked a 19-year-old youth with sharp weapons over personal enmity in Laxminagar, Dattawadi, on Saturday night. The injured has been identified as Dhananjay alias Narayan Adagale.

Dhanraj Adgale (18), the victim’s brother, lodged a first information report (FIR) at the Dattawadi police station. Police have arrested two accused identified as Suraj Santosh Misal (19) and Akshay Santosh Nevkar (19) and booked them under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), including attempt to murder. The remaining nine are still at large.

According to the police, the victim got into a quarrel with one of the 11 accused a month ago. On Saturday, some members of the group had another argument with the victim, which lead to the murderous assault. The victim has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital.

6. Murder Accused on the Run for 16 Years Held

A 57-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with a murder he allegedly committed 16 years ago in Nallasopara, police said.

Kamlesh Jain was arrested from Borivali railway station by Thane Rural police crime branch after they received a tip-off on his whereabouts.

Jain, a resident of Bhayander, was wanted for the murder of a builder, Rajesh Patange, in Nallasopara east in 2003, Jitendra Vankoti, crime branch senior inspector, said. Gunmen had shot dead Patange and injured his friend Sakharam Naikude outside the former’s house on October 25, 2003, police said.

7. Eight Held After Four Remand Home Inmates Escape in Nalanda

Four inmates escaped from a juvenile remand home near Deepnagar police station in Nalanda town on Monday evening, by removing the windowpanes from the windows in their rooms. All the four inmates were involved in a series of serious criminal incidents, including murder, rape and kidnapping and are residents of Asthawan, Hilsa, Ekangarsarai and Nawada.

Home guard jawans Raj Kumar, Rajaram Prasad, Binod Ravidas, Sunder Lal and Prem Kant Kumar, who were on duty at the time of the inmates’ escape, have been arrested for negligence of duty and are in police custody. The police have also arrested remand home superintendent Dirghraj, cook Sunil Singh and helper Ashwini Kumar. The police did not find any clues from the spot, apart from the iron rod the boys used to break open the window panes.

8. Patient’s Sister Raped in City Hospital, One Arrested

A 31-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a patient’s sister at a hospital in Mumbai. According to police, the accused posed as a ward boy and offered to help the 39-year-old victim.

He told her that he could help waive off their hospital expenses. He then asked her to accompany him, the police said. “He then took her to the terrace of the hospital, where he allegedly raped her,” a police officer said.

After the incident, the woman with the help of security guards searched for the accused but could not find him.

9. Pipeline Sabotage in Gurugram: Police Action Sought

A team of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials met the commissioner of Gurugram police, Muhammad Akil, on Tuesday and gave a representation, demanding police action against those who damaged its master water pipeline, near Pioneer Park in Sector 61, thrice in the past two weeks.

Lalit Arora, the chief engineer of GMDA, who was a part of the delegation, said, “We suspect private tanker water suppliers to be behind these damages and we have sought police help. We have presented the facts to the commissioner of police, who gave us concrete assurance (of taking action). We hope there is no more damage to our water pipeline.”

The move comes after the irrecoverable loss of millions of litres of treated government water supplied to the city from the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant.
