1. Woman Who Alleged Rape by Goa Congress Leader Goes Missing
A young woman who had accused Congress candidate for Panaji Assembly by-election Atanasio Monserrate of drugging and raping her in 2016, when she was a minor, has gone missing, Goa Police confirmed on Monday.
The police have registered a case of abduction against unknown persons based on a missing complaint. Monserrate’s counsel had earlier argued in court that the charges should be dismissed since the victim’s six statements given by her till date allegedly do not match.
According to the police, the victim was staying in a rehabilitation home run by nuns in Goa, awaiting the trial. She has been reportedly missing since April 28, they said.

2. Woman Staff Thrashed by Employer for Demanding Pay, Video Goes Viral
A 25-year-old woman employee of a unisex salon in Greater Noida was allegedly beaten up by her employer and his three friends over a salary dispute.
A purported video of the incident, in which the suspects are seen kicking the woman and pulling her by hair, went viral on social media. The salon owner was arrested on Monday evening, two days after the incident on Saturday.
According to the woman, the accused went to file a complaint against her at the Knowledge Park police station after the incident on Saturday.
“However, when I reached the police station on Saturday, they took my complaint but did not act on it seriously,” she alleged. A day later, the police registered an FIR against the accused on Sunday.

3. Two Traffic Cops Attacked Over Liquor Test, Four Arrested
Kolkata Police arrested four people for allegedly assaulting two on-duty traffic police officers after they refused to undergo a breathalyser test in Topsia late on Sunday.
Amarlal Mehta (43) of Charu Market, Bikash Bhalla (34) of Karaya Road, Debasish Dhar (44) and Subhanjit Mukherjee (34) of Muchipara were booked under sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 114 (abettor present when offence is committed) of the Indian Penal Code.
Topsia police registered the case on a complaint by Sergeant Snehasish Mukherjee and Sergeant Sarkan Ahamad of the East Traffic Guard.

4. Woman, Infant Daughter Burnt Alive for Dowry in Deoghar
A 22-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter were allegedly burnt alive for dowry, in a village at Deoghar district on Saturday night by her husband and in-laws.
Police said Rukshana Biwi and her daughter were allegedly doused with kerosene and set ablaze by her husband, Khurshid Ansari, and his family at Buchi village, around 15 kms from the district headquarters, under Devipur police station limits.
Rukshana, a resident of Chetnari village under Margomunda police station limits of Deoghar, was married to Ansari in 2017. Ansari worked at a private factory in West Bengal’s Howrah, while his wife stayed with his parents in the village.

5. Daughter Harassed, Man Objects, Stabbed to Death
Objecting to his daughter being harassed proved fatal for a 51-year-old man, who was stabbed to death outside his house in West Delhi Sunday morning. Around 12.30 am, as Dhruv Raj Tyagi was returning to his Moti Nagar home from Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital with his 27-year-old daughter, Mohd Alam (20) allegedly passed a lewd remark, DCP (West) Monika Bhardwaj said.
“The accused and the victim live in the same neighbourhood. After the woman’s father objected to the remark, he was allegedly stabbed by Alam, who went inside his home and got a knife. The victim’s son ran to his rescue and was also injured,” said Bhardwaj.
On Monday morning, the man succumbed to his injuries. A case under IPC sections 302 (murder), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) has been registered against the accused. “We have arrested Alam and his father Jehangir Khan (45),” said Bhardwaj. The post-mortem was conducted Monday and his body was handed over to his family.

6. Medical Student Abused, Beaten Unconscious in Case of Road Rage
A 31-year-old man was allegedly abused and assaulted by a group of men following a road rage incident on Saturday evening near gate number four of Ardee city in Sector 52. The police said that there are at least seven suspects involved in the case.
According to the police, the incident took place on Saturday around 7.55pm. The victim, Noorul ,who is a medical student, had come to Ardee city to buy milk, the police said.
Pradeep Hooda, investigating officer (IO), Sector 53 police station, said that the alleged altercation took place when Noorul and one of the suspects had a heated argument while Noorul was reversing his car.

7. Man Arrested for Flashing Inside ATM in Mumbai
A 38-year-old man was arrested for allegedly flashing a woman inside an ATM kiosk in Navghar in the wee hours of Sunday. The woman had allegedly recorded the incident and tweeted about it to the Mumbai Police.
According to Navghar police, the accused has been identified as Sandeep Kumbharkar (38). “Kumbharkar is a resident of Kopari and was at the ATM kiosk in Navghar area at around 3 am on Sunday. The 23-year-old victim reached the spot and entered the ATM to withdraw cash to pay her cab,” said an officer from Navghar police station.
The accused allegedly offered to pay for the woman and tried to touch her inappropriately inside the kiosk, the woman told the police in her complaint. “He then flashed her and tried to molest her, at which point she started recording the video,” the officer added.

8. Seven-Year-Old Allegedly Raped, Killed In Uttar Pradesh; Accused Arrested
A seven-year-old girl was killed after allegedly being raped today in a village in Uttar Pradesh, the police said.
The body of the victim was recovered in the morning and a case was registered against a man, senior police official Vijay Anand told reporters.
The official said the accused was arrested and confessed to committing the crime.

9. In Jharkhand, Four Held for Killing BJP Tribal Leader Hopen Hembram
Four persons, including main accused Dukhu Tudu, were arrested in connection with the murder of BJP SC/ST Morcha leader Hopen Hembram near Kaliadih Gaushala on Saturday, police said on Sunday morning.
According to the police, the arrested youths are allegedly JMM supporters. Tudu is a close relative of JMM leader Dr Tudu, accused in Nagadih lynching and currently in jail in a murder case, police said.
This came as a shock for the city just hours ahead before polling for Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat started, in which BJP candidate and sitting MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and JMM nominee Champai Soren are pitted in a direct contest.
