Jharkhand Journalist Found Dead in Palamu Health Centre

In yet another shocking instance, the body of a 30-year-old journalist was found hanging, under mysterious circumstances, inside a health centre in Jharkhand’s Vishrampur area, in the Palamu district, reported The Indian Express.

The journalist, identified as Rameshwar Keshri, is said to be associated with several vernacular newspapers, and was primarily involved in working for “sahiyas” in the sub-centre, said the police.

The investigation is currently underway in order to determine if this is a case of suicide or if any foul play is involved.

As per the information given by the police, the body was found hanging from the fan, with folded knees. It is reported that he had allegedly been working in the health centre in connection to a story, however, there are no witnesses to confirm assault or an attempt to commit suicide.

We are investigating the case in detail. The scene of occurrence has been sealed. A post-mortem will be conducted. The body was found hanging from the fan. From what we have come to know, he used to work at the training centre of sahiyas and was also associated with different news organisations. A dog squad and the FSL unit have also been summoned to the spot.

An emergency meeting has been called by the state unit of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists on Thursday, 17 May, in this regard.
