J&K Government Approves SOP for Governor’s Rule

The State Administrative Council approves SOP so that government functions can be discharged under Governor’s rule.

Jammu and Kashmir government today approved a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the actions being taken whenever Governor’s rule is implemented in the state.

The State Administrative Council approved the SOP for the actions being taken on various issues within prescribed timelines for ensuring that government business is discharged effectively whenever Governor’s Rule is imposed in the state, an official spokesperson said.

The aspects of government business covered under the SOP include the appointment of advisors, the constitution of the State Administration Council, the delegation of powers at various levels to facilitate smooth functioning of the government. The resignation of the members, chairpersons of various statutory, non-statutory organisations, boards, the resignation of persons nominated, appointed as Advocate General/Additional Advocate General are also included.

It also includes recall of the gazetted, non-gazetted staff posted in the personal sections of the ministers, ministers of state, chairperson(s), vice-chairperson(s) of various boards and commissions.
