3 Army Jawans Killed, 1 Injured in Avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir

The bodies of the soldiers have been recovered.

Three army personnel were killed and another was injured on Friday, 2 February, when an avalanche struck their post in Machhil sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said. The deceased were Havaldar Kamlesh Singh (39) , Naik Balveer (33) and Sepoy Rajinder (25).

"In an unfortunate incident of avalanche in Machhil sector, the Army lost three valiant soldiers," an army official said.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti condoled the deaths of the jawans.

The bodies of the soldiers have been recovered, the official said, adding that further details were awaited.
