‘Op Underway’: Army Officer on Suspicious Movement Near Uri Camp
An Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri was cordoned off in the early hours of Monday, 11 February, after security personnel detected suspicious movement in the area.
The Army Artillery unit at Rajarwani detected suspicious movement around the camp and opened fired, reported news agency ANI. Army and police officials are conducting a joint search operation in the area.
Two people are also being questioned about the incident.
Vinay Kumar, Commanding Officer 53 Battalion CRPF told ANI that the operation is still going on.
In 2016, 17 soldiers and four militants were killed after militants had attacked the Rear Base of an Army unit deployed in Uri.
