3. Family Accuses Hospital Staff of Causing 32-Year-Old’s Death After Alleged Assault

Family members of a 32-year-old man have lodged a complaint with the police claiming that he died after being allegedly thrashed by the staff of a hospital in south-west Delhi, a charge denied by the facility.

Sonu had gone to the Rao Tula Ram (RTR) Hospital in Jafarapur on Sunday with his wife, where he had some quarrel with the hospital staff, a family member claimed.

Police, however, said that there appears to be no evidence of an assault by the hospital staff prima facie.

“Sonu had first come to our hospital on February 11, when his wife had been brought by a police personnel, after she had consumed some unknown poison. In the evening, he again came to the hospital drunk and started shouting,” police said.
