1. 22-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Beaten up by Cop, Others
A 22-year-old engineering graduate, allegedly beaten up by five persons including an official of the Special Armed Force (SAF) of the Madhya Pradesh police on 1 December, has died, police said on Wednesday, 6 December.
"Assistant Sub-Inspector Shiva Agrawal has been suspended by the SAF following allegations that he was involved in the crime," Additional Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Gupta said.
"We are looking for Agrawal, who is missing, to question him," said the ASP, who is the investigating officer in the case. No case has been registered against Agrawal yet.
"If he is found involved, he would be booked for murder," Gupta added.
Patel's family members alleged that after admitting him to the hospital, police told them that he was injured in a road accident, and they came to know about the assault only later.

2. Man Rapes & Kills 7-Year-Old Girl to Avenge Brother's Death
A 25-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, 6 December, for allegedly raping and killing a seven-year-old girl in Warangal, Telangana, on Monday, 4 December, to take "revenge" on her father, police said.
According to Jayashankar Bhupalpally Deputy Superintendent of Police P Ravi Kumar, Shiva suspected that the girl's father had "spoiled" his brother's love affair after which the latter killed himself by consuming pesticide.
"In a bid to avenge his brother's death, Shiva lured the child under some pretext on 4 December evening and then allegedly raped her before strangulating her to death on the outskirts of Gorikottapally village," the officer said.
Shiva has been booked under the IPC and the POSCO Act.

3. 87-Year-Old Man Allegedly Rapes 8-Year-Old Girl
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an 87-year-old man in outer Delhi's Narela, police said on Wednesday, 6 December.
The accused has been arrested. On Monday, 4 December, he lured the girl, who was playing outside, to his makeshift barn in Rohini.
He tried to force himself on her. Since the barn did not have a roof, a woman, who was standing on the terrace of her house, saw the accused with the girl, the police said.
She raised an alarm and alerted locals who rushed to the spot. The accused then fled from there.

4. Baby Dies After Being Abandoned by Ambulance Short on Oxygen
A three year old boy died in an ambulance in Telangana’s Adilabad, allegedly after the ambulance ran out of oxygen. The incident happened on the night of 3 December, but came to light on Wednesday, 6 December.
The boy met with an accident and was rushed to a private clinic on Sunday. There, his parents were told to take him to Hyderabad for advanced treatment.
The ambulance driver was negligent in checking the oxygen levels in the ambulance and left with the boy in haste, according to reports.
The Hindu reported that after noticing the oxygen being exhausted, the driver shifted the boy to Ichoda Primary Health Centre and left. However, since the primary health centre didn't have the facilities to treat the boy, the staff took the boy to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, where the the boy was declared brought dead.

5. Woman Raped Inside Autorickshaw in Haryana, Driver Arrested
An autorickshaw driver was arrested, for allegedly raping a woman, with his two accomplices inside his three-wheeler near the cantonment area in Hisar, police said on Wednesday, 6 December.
Nikhil (20), from Uttar Pradesh, was sent to judicial custody on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the case, they said.
The victim, in her police complaint, said that she boarded the autorickshaw around 8 pm on Monday, 4 December, and other passengers were also seated in it at the time.
The passengers got down near Satroad village and the driver then stopped the autorickshaw before they reached the cantonment and raped her, she alleged.
Two accomplices of the accused also raped her and later dumped her near the gate of the cantonment and fled from the scene, she added.

6. Woman Found Dead at Mumbai’s Santacruz Beach
A woman was found dead on Santacruz beach in Mumbai on Wednesday, 6 December, police said. The police are yet to identify the woman.
The police spotted a tattoo on the body of the woman. With no other means to identify her, the police are banking on the tattoo to gather clues.
According to police, the post-mortem report suggested that the woman was murdered and later dumped at the beach.
The post-mortem report also revealed that the woman, who was in her mid-20s, suffered injuries around her face and back.
The Santacruz Police have registered a case of murder. Meanwhile, the crime branch is conducting parallel investigations. Sources said that CCTV footage from the vicinity will be crucial to cracking the case.

7. Five Arrested for Murder in Delhi’s Mansoravar Park
Five persons have been arrested for allegedly killing an octogenarian woman and her three daughters along with their security guard in their house in Mansarovar Park area in Delhi in October, police said on Wednesday, 6 December. Police added that the security guard could be the mastermind behind the murder of the woman and her daughters.
The arrests were made by the Crime Branch and robbery was stated to be the motive behind the crime.
RP Upadhyay, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said five persons have been arrested.
A senior official said five persons arrested are related to the security guard, leading to suspicion that he was involved in the murder.

8. 75-Year-Old Man Arrested for Raping Daughter-In-Law
A 75-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, 6 December, for allegedly sexually assaulting his 35-year-old widowed daughter-in-law in Odisha’s Kendrapara district, police said.
The incident took place at Badagaon village under the jurisdiction of Marshaghai police station on Tuesday.
The accused, Amulya Pradhan, was arrested after his daughter-in-law lodged a complaint against him alleging that he sexually assaulted her, police said.

9. Woman, 10-Year-Old Daughter Found Dead in Greater Noida
A woman and her 10-year-old daughter were found murdered in their Greater Noida flat on the night to Tuesday, 5 December.
The bodies of 42-year-old Anjali and her daughter were found in the bedroom of flat no 1446 in Greater Noida’s posh Gaur City. Anjali's husband was out of station for work when the incident took place.
The incident came to light when Anjali's husband asked his relatives to check on his family as she was not answering his calls.
Meanwhile, police have learnt that the deceased woman's son is missing from their flat since the murder. The police are now on the lookout for the missing child, who could be involved in the crime, they said.
