QCrime: Bihar Village Head’s Husband Killed; 5-Year-Old Raped
1. Bihar Village Head's Husband Shot Dead at Home
Two men barged into the house of a village head in Bihar's Khagaria district and gunned down her husband who was asleep in the wee hours today, the police said.
Two persons were taken into custody in connection with the murder, senior police official Minu Kumari said.
The incident occurred at Uttari Maarar panchayat where the village head is Ragini Devi.
The two assailants fired upon her husband Nandlal Paswan, 50, who was sleeping in the house, and fled in a motorcycle.
Kumari said Paswan was declared brought dead when he was taken to Khagaria Sadar Hospital.
Personal enmity could be the reason behind the murder, police sources said adding that the case was being investigated from all angles.
2. Sweeper Rapes 5-Year-Old Girl in South Delhi School
A five-year-old girl student was raped by a sweeper in a private school in south Delhi over the course of several days, and the revelation of the shocking crime led to parents of three more young students from the school alleging that their daughters were abused by the man, police said on Tuesday.
The sweeper, who was employed in the school since 2008, has been arrested.
Vijay Kumar, deputy commissioner of police (south), confirmed that multiple complaints of sexual abuse have been received against the man, and said that the police have sought the help of an NGO to counsel other children in the school to see if the accused, seemingly a serial offender, abused more students.
The police are also sending a notice to the school authorities to know if they received any complaints against him in the past. “We will also be asking them why a male worker was allowed into the washroom section meant for girls,” said Kumar.
3. Main Accused in Sexual Assault, Killing of Woman in Delhi Nabbed
The Delhi police's Crime Branch has arrested the main accused in the sexual assault and killing of a 25-year-old woman in south east Delhi's Sarita Vihar area in February, officials said on Tuesday.
A team of Crime Branch nabbed Dhirender Singh, 40, from Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal on Monday, said Ram Gopal Naik, the DCP(Crime Branch).
"The accused was declared proclaimed offender and an award of Rs 25,000 was announced on his arrest," the officer said.
He was wanted in connection with killing of the woman whose body was found at a secluded place near Kalindi Kunj road on February 27. A case was registered at Sarita Vihar police station and the victim was later identified.
Police nabbed four accused -- Dinesh, Saurabh, Rahimuddin and Chandreshwar -- in connection with the case after investigation. During interrogation, they revealed Dhirender Singh's name, Naik said.

4. Nepalese Stabbed to Death in Delhi by Compatriot
A 22-year-old Nepalese man was allegedly stabbed to death by his compatriot in central Delhi''s Desh Bandhu Gupta road area after a scuffle broke out between them over a petty issue, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Virender while the accused as Vishal, also 22, they said, adding that they used to live near DBG road area and work in hotels here.
According to a senior police official, Vishal and Virender knew each other.
Police said they had a quarrel on an earlier occasion while they were drinking. And to take revenge, Vishal attacked Virender on Monday evening, they said.
They said Virender was taken to the Lady Hardinge Medical College hospital by police. But he succumbed to injuries during the treatment. He died due to excessive bleeding, they said.
5. UP Village Head, Associates Open Fire on Group of People, 1 Killed
One person was killed and two others were injured when a village head and his associates opened fire on a group of people at Shitalpur here, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night after Shitalpur village head Bhupndra Yadav entered into an argument with a man, Veerpal, who accused him of using abusive language, they said.
Veerpal was shot dead and two others were injured, Inspector Ashok Kumar said, adding that one of those hurt in the incident was referred to a hospital in Agra.
ASP (crime) Rahul Kumar said an FIR was lodged against Yadav and five others, and efforts are on to nab them.

6. Three Men Involved in Over Two Dozen Snatching and Theft Cases Arrested by Delhi Police
The Delhi Police Tuesday claimed to have solved 28 cases of snatching and theft registered across the city after they arrested three men from northwest Delhi''s Jahangirpuri area.
The three men were identified as Saddam Hussain (25), Sahil (20) and Virender (30), they said.
Police said Mohammad Azruddin (34), a manager at a wine shop in northwest Delhi''s Jahangirpuri, lodged a complaint in which he alleged that he was robbed on May 2 by a gang of four men.
The incident took place when he along with his colleague were going on a scooter to deliver cash to their employer at Kohat Enclave. Their vehicle was hit by four motorcycle-borne men at Mukarba Chowk.
"The men took away the scooter after threatening him and his colleague with a knife and a pistol. The other two men escaped on their motorcycles," a senior police officer said.
7. Gurugram Woman Duped by Man She Met on Matrimonial Website
A woman was allegedly duped by a man she met on a matrimonial website, the police said on Tuesday. An alleged accomplice of the suspect was arrested.
The police said in July 2019, a resident of Sector 54 met a person on a matrimonial website, who claimed to be from England. The man started courting her and promised to visit her in August.
“We chatted for over a month. He said that his flight would be landing in Mumbai around 11.30 pm on August 6. Around 11.45 pm, he called me from an Indian number and said that he had been detained at the airport since he was carrying British currency (1,50,000 pounds) and would require Rs 48,300 to catch a flight to Delhi. Two hours later, he called again and demanded ₹1.15 lakh,” she said in the complaint.
Police said she transferred Rs 48, 300 online and realised she had been duped when she discussed it with a relative. The incident was reported to the police on August 7.
8. Gujarat Trader Dies in Mumbai Hit-And-Run
A Gujarat resident who had come to Mumbai to sell goats at the Deonar market here for Eid-al-Adha died in a hit-and-run accident. The incident is suspected to have taken place on Saturday night, but his body was found only on Sunday morning at a parking lot located near the Deonar abattoir. An FIR was registered on Sunday.
Shabanmiya Shaikh, the cleaner of a truck, who had transported goats to the abattoir, along with the truck driver, was found by locals lying injured at the parking spot located near M ward office of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Later on, the driver of the truck who had accompanied Shaikh to Mumbai identified his body, police said. The truck had been parked at the civic body’s parking lot, where the body was found.
9. Ransom Plot Goes Wrong, 16-Year-Old Killed by His Friends in Amritsar
A 16-year-old student was killed in Amritsar by his own friends who wanted to demand ransom from his parents after kidnapping him. Police has booked three, including two minors, in the case. Prabhkirat Singh was a student of Class 11, and had gone to play cricket a government school playground Sunday.
His parents, both government employees, started looking for him after he did not return. Prabhkirat was their younger son. His dead body was found from the nearby canal on Monday.
One of the minor accused was an old neighbour of Prabhkirat in Guru Ka Nagar locality. Recently, Prabhkirat’s family had shifted to the Anad Vihar Nagar. But both boys were in touch. The other two accused, including Shiv (23) were common friends of Prabhkirat. He was allegedly strangulated in a Maruti car but Shiv, while it was being driven by a minor accused. A case under Section 302 and 201 has been registered against all three at Verka police station.
