Youth Congress workers, demanding Swaraj’s resignation, were seen carrying placards and shouting slogans against the NDA government for helping the  controversial former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi.

The row started when details of Sushma Swaraj helping Lalit Modi with travel documents to Portugal from the United Kingdom, where he is based currently, were released.

Opposition parties have sought an explanation for Swaraj’s actions from Prime Minster Modi.

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has stood by Sushma Swaraj while the opposition, which includes Congress, called it ‘double standards’ of the ruling party.

The opposition parties want the Prime Minister to apologise for the controversy.
