Telagana's Law Department on Thursday gave permission to prosecute BJP MLA Raja Singh, known for his alleged hate speeches and communal statements.

The Times of India reported that Singh had organised a 'Vishal Gau Rakshana Garjana' on 29 September 2013 at Shahinayathgunj, Hyderabad, wherein he allegedly made an inflammatory speech.

The TOI report adds that a police case was filed against him under IPC Section 153(A) (creating enmity between two communities on the basis of religion), following which Singh got bail.

Police needed the state’s permission to prosecute Singh, as he is a sitting legislator from Goshamahal.

Singh is no stranger to controversy, and already has several cases booked against him.

Earlier this month, he spoke about the communal clashes in Baduria and Basirhat districts of West Bengal, asking Hindus in the area to ‘respond the same way’ the Hindus did during the 2002 Gujarat riots.

In May, a case was registered against him, after he described Hyderabad's Old City area as "mini Pakistan" and made some other objectionable remarks.

Singh had told a television channel in an interview that the Constitution and the law currently in force are not his priorities.

The controversial MLA also stated that he is preparing a private army and training the youth with lethal weapons.

Police had earlier booked Singh for his statement that there was no place in India for those who do not sing 'Vande Mataram'.

Before that, the police had booked the legislator for threatening to behead anyone who opposes the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya.
