Two contractual workers died and four contractual workers suffered severe burn injuries in a fire that broke out at an ONGC well at Nandej near Ahmedabad on Wednesday, 13 March.

The fire started while repair and maintenance operations were being carried out.

The incident took place at Geratpur, where several ONGC producing wells are located.

At least 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
