1 Dead as Fire Breaks in Kothari House in Mumbai’s Girgaon

Eyewitnesses said that flames continued to billow out of the windows of Mumbai’s Kothari House building.

One person was reported dead as fire broke out in Giragaon’s Kothari House in south Mumbai on Sunday, 24 June, according to ANI.

Eight fire engines were rushed for firefighting operations, an official told PTI.

He said that the fire, which broke out around 6 pm, was confined to the second and third floor of the ground-plus-four-storey building situated close to Central Plaza cinema. the fire has now been doused.

"A wooden staircase connecting the second and third floor collapsed after getting gutted in the fire," the official told PTI.

Eyewitnesses said that flames continued to billow out of the windows of the building.
