Actor Swara Bhasker, who came to attend a special screening of Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut’s Judgementall Hai Kya on Wednesday night, voiced her support for the open letter written to PM Narendra Modi by 49 eminent personalities including actors and filmmakers at the event. The open letter to the PM, which was released to the media on Wednesday, condemned the rising mob lynching incidents against Dalits and Muslims in the country.

Speaking on the issue, Swara Bhasker said, “Mob lynching has become an epidemic in the country and I don’t think we can turn our face away from this harsh reality. There’s no point in falsifying it.”

While talking about the open letter to the PM written by 49 distinguished citizens of the country including filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Konkona Sensharma and Mani Ratna, Swara said, “I feel that it is very commendable that artists, filmmakers, writers in our country are engaged and affected with whatever is happening in the society.”
When asked by a media person about the political inclinations of the people who had written the open letter to the PM, Swara said,“Mob lynching is wrong and if anyone is voicing their concern on the matter, their ideology or inclination shouldn’t matter. I wholeheartedly support the artists, filmmakers, people who have written this letter.”
