After Khadse, Senior IPS Official in Trouble Over Land Deal
Following Khadse’s land deal gone sour, a senior IPS officer has found himself embroiled in a similar case.
- A senior IPS officer from Maharashtra has found himself in the middle of an allegedly fraudulent land deal, reports The Indian Express. This incident comes right after the dismissal of BJP’s Eknath Khadse over a fraudulent deal which involved Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) land.
- On 4 June, an MIDC complaint accused Mumbai Economic Offences Wing chief Dhananjay Kamalkar’s 23-year-old son, Rohit, of “fraudulently” usurping 76,400 sq kms of land in Karegaon, Pune, in connivance with four others. The estimated worth of this land stands at Rs 205 crore.
- The complaint demands that Rohit and his partners be booked for cheating, forgery and fraud. Senior government functionaries have reportedly been informed of the matter.
