After nearly a week of delay, Delhi University finally kickstarts its admission process on Wednesday. The University has introduced a slew of changes this year to make the process easier and more convenient for applicants.

Upon registration, the applicants will receive a link to the DU admissions portal via email. Here, the students will have to fill up forms and upload “self attested and scanned” copies of their documents. Once the cut-offs are announced, the applicants can log into their registered account and check the course and colleges they are eligible for.
The online registration process will start at noon on Wednesday and will go on till 19 June. The first cut-off list will come out on 27 June. There is a one-time registration fee – Rs 100 for the general category and Rs 50 for SC/ST students.
The varsity this year has decided to release only five cut-off lists, the last one is likely to come out on 16 July.
The centralised procedure also applies to Sports and Extra Curricular Activity category.
After much deliberation, the centralised admission process, starting this year will also include minority institutions like St Stephen’s College and Jesus & Mary College. The minority colleges will have to register their applicants centrally first, and then follow their own procedure to determine cut-offs.
Four more colleges, which were granted minority status by the Delhi High Court last year will also have to follow the centralised admissions procedure. These colleges include Mata Sundari College for Women, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Sri Guru Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College and Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce.
Among other changes, an overall one percent relaxation for women students has also been put in place.
