- A Team of the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Thursday conducted raids at the Delhi Commission for Women(DCW) offices in connection to a complaint related to alleged nepotism in the panel recruitment.
- The complaint filed against Swati Maliwal – the current woman’s panel president – by her predecessor Barkha Shukla Singh who had alleged that Maliwal practised “nepotism and favouritism” in appointments.
- Singh in her complaint claimed that the AAP leader Maliwal “ignoring the basic parameters of appointment” was handing out “plum jobs” in the women’s panel, to supporters of her party.
- The former DCW chief in her complaint named 85 people “who got jobs without requisite credentials and are drawing lakhs of rupees from the Delhi government exchequer”. However, these allegations were swiftly rubbished by the DCW and Maliwal.
