1. Rohtak Man Flashes Women; Case Registered

The Rohtak Police has registered a case against an unidentified person for allegedly flashing women students of Maharshi Dayanand University and using foul language.

Rohtak Superintendent of Police Jashandeep Singh Randhawa directed the PGI police post staff to register a case on Wednesday, 29 August, after the matter came to his notice.

The police have released a closed-circuit television grab of the accused for identification and announced a cash reward of rupees 10,000 for information leading to his arrest. The police are scrutinising CCTV camera footage from university campus and also questioning students to identify the culprit.

2. Delhi: Man Robs Protein Supplements Worth Lakhs to Build Muscular Body

In a bizzare case of robbery, a youth robbed proteins to gain a muscular and strong body. Accused, 20-year-old, was thin and weighed just 35 kg. He wanted to build his body and that's when someone gave him the idea of having protein diet.

The skinny man went to a gym near his house which sold protein supplements. He stole protein bags putting the owner on gunpoint. To avoid getting arrested, he even took away the DVR of the CCTV installed in the shop.

The incident took place in Rohini Sector 8 and the police have started investigations.

3. 27-Yr-Old, Accused in 135 Cyber Crime Cases, Held

The cyber cell of Gurugram Police arrested a 27-year-old commerce graduate for allegedly duping over a hundred of people from Delhi-NCR by getting their credit/debit card details. Police arrested him from Jharsa Crossing on Tuesday, 28 August, and took him on four-day remand.

The accused was identified as Vikas Jha, a resident of Muzzaffarpur, Bihar.

According to police, over 135 cases of cyber fraud are registered against Jha in the Delhi-NCR area, out of which around 23 FIRs are registered against him at Gurugram Cyber Police Station. Besides, there are large numbers of complaints of cyber fraud, in which FIR have not been registered against Jha as yet, police said.

4. Mumbai: Woman Files Complaint Against Husband, His Friends Alleging Rape and Blackmail

A 28-year-old woman filed an FIR on Tuesday against her husband for allegedly recording a video as his friends raped her in their house. The husband allegedly blackmailed the woman with the video clip in an attempt to extract money from her.

Kalyan police said the incident took place in Kalyan East. “The woman stayed with her 39-year-old husband. According to her complaint, he was addicted to watching pornographic content.

“He allegedly brought his friends along on Saturday and forced the woman to consume alcohol after which she was raped by his friends,” a police officer said.

5. Gang of Carjackers Busted in Delhi, Four Arrested

A gang of robbers and carjackers which allegedly used to rob Ola cabs was busted by on Wednesday, 29 August. The kingpin of the gang was himself an Ola cab driver.

The arrested persons were identified as Arun Kumar, Dharambir Singh, Sunil Kumar and Pradeep Tomar. They are all residents of various districts of western UP.

“Arun Kumar was the mastermind. He was working as a driver with Ola cabs. He roped in other the other accused and managed to procure a mobile phone and a SIM card on fake ID to execute the crime,” said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP (South-East).

6. Six, Including Tutor, Arrested as Sexual Abuse Videos Go Viral in Bihar

Six people have been arrested in Bihar in the past three days after three separate videos of girls and women being allegedly sexually assaulted and abused in several parts of the state were widely shared on social media.

A tutor in the state’s Supaul district, Amit Kumar Jha, and his father were arrested on Tuesday after a minor girl lodged a case against four people with the women police station.

She alleged in her complaint that Jha allegedly offered a cold drink laced with an intoxicant and raped her and recorded the act to blackmail her. Jha later posted the clip on social media when she failed to pay the money he asked for.

7. Jaipur Man Rapes Minor Daughter, Niece for over an Year, Held

In a chilling case, a 44-year-old man raped his 17-year-old daughter and his 12-year-old niece multiple times for over 12 months until the girls decided to flee his captivity and narrated their ordeal to the family and the police.

The Pratap Nagar police on Wednesday, 28 August, arrested the accused, who works as a labourer in the city. “He is a native of Uttar Pradesh and has been living in Jaipur with his family for past many years. He raped his daughter on more than three occasions, the accused also admitted to have raped his niece who was 11-years-old when the incident happened,” said SHO Mohammed Islam Khan.

The accused said that he always raped the minor girls in an inebriated condition.

8. Man Arrested for Stabbing Pregnant Wife to Death

A man was arrested on Wednesday, 28 August, for allegedly stabbing his pregnant wife to death around five days ago and dumping her body in a drain in Crossings Republik after stuffing it in a sack, the police said.

The police said that the arrested accused has been identified as Rajeev Poddar, who hails from Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad. They said that Rajeev was arrested near ABES College.

A senior police officer said that the body of a 28-year-old woman was found stuffed in a sack in a drain in Crossings Republik, Ghaziabad on 25 August.

9. Mumbai: Five Men Who Posed as I-T Officials to Carry out Robbery Arrested

Five men were arrested recently for allegedly robbing Rs 3 lakh in cash and 100 gm gold jewellery from the house of a real estate agent in Mira Road area by posing as Income-Tax (I-T) officials earlier this month.

The incident took place on 5 August when three men showed up at Govind Singh’s house at Omkar Towers in Kashimira. Claiming to be I-T officials, they said they were there to search his home as part of an inquiry into “his undeclared wealth”.

The police said that as soon as the men were shown inside by Singh, they threatened him and his wife with a pistol and asked them to open a safe where cash and jewellery was stored.
