1. Air India Staffer’s Kin Get ₹1 Cr Ransom Calls

The mysterious disappearance of a 57-year-old Air India employee from her Pandara Road residence on 30 September has developed a new twist. Her family has started receiving calls from unknown numbers demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore.

The first ransom call came on 11 November in which a man called Pankaj demanded a ‘khokha’ for Sulakshan Narula’s release. Early on Friday, the family again received the ransom demand. The family has alleged that Delhi Police didn’t accompany them when they went to Haridwar acting on the caller’s instructions.

The family has demanded a CBI probe and will approach the Delhi High Court in this regard. “We want CBI or Crime Branch to take up the case. The local police have been extremely callous and the investigating officer is mostly in court or on law and order duty. Precious time has been lost in this process,” said Sulakshan’s husband, Sunil, a doctor.
