COVID-19: Negligence Observed During ‘Unlock 1’, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation on Tuesday, 30 June amid COVID-19 outbreak, said, "Ever since Unlock 1 started in the country, negligence in personal and social behaviour has been increasing. Earlier, we were more cautious about the use of masks, 'do gaj doori' and washing hands several times a day for 20 seconds."
The number of coronavirus cases in India rose by 18,522 to 5,66,840 on Tuesday, 30 June, while the death toll increased by 418 to 16,893. According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are now 2,15,125 active cases across the country, while 3,34,821 patients have been cured or discharged, and one has migrated.
Late on Monday, the Centre announced guidelines for Unlock 2, which have to be implemented till 31 July, with the night curfew being further reduced from 10 pm to 5 am.
- Shops, depending upon their area, can have more than five people at a time, but they will have to maintain adequate distance, the Unlock 2 guidelines said
- Domestic flights, passenger train services will be further expanded in a calibrated manner during Unlock 2

Jama Masjid to Reopen on 4 July
Jama Masjid, which had closed earlier this month due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, will reopen for congregational prayers (namaz) from 4 July, Shahi Imam of the mosque Syed Ahmed Bukhari said on Tuesday, PTI reported.
Study on Plasma Therapy is Still Ongoing: ICMR
The Indian Council of Medical Research says its study on plasma therapy (PLACID Trial) is still ongoing.
"Sample size is 452. An interim analysis of 300 patients has not been conducted. The results will be shared on completion of the study from a scientific perspective," said ICMR.

'Need to Have Special Focus on Containment Zones': PM

PM also asks everyone to follow health guidelines, says be it head of village or prime minister, nobody is above rules.
"During lockdown, rules were strictly abided by. Now, governments, local administration and citizens again have to show similar caution. We need to have a special focus on containment zones. If you see someone flouting norms, tell them to not do so," he adds as per ANI.
Morning Walks from 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM Allowed in WB
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee says, "We are allowing morning walks from 5:30 am to 8:30 am but social distancing should be maintained. 50 people to be allowed at weddings and 'sraddha' instead of 25," ANI reports.

Rajiva Sinha, West Bengal Chief Secretary writes to Ajay Bhalla, Home Secretary stating, "kindly give MHA's consent for relaxing norms for Kolkata to run a bare minimum number of Metro train to carry people associated with essential services as a very special case," reports ANI.

WB Asks Centre to Restrict Domestic Flights
Rajiva Sinha, West Bengal Chief Secretary writes to the Ministry of Central Aviation stating, "kindly not to schedule any flight to West Bengal from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai, Indore, Ahmedabad, Surat for 2 weeks starting July 6, 2020," ANI reports.
WB Issues 'Unlock 2' Guidelines
A day after Centre announced guidelines for 'unlock 2', West Bengal government says that schools, colleges, cinema halls, swimming pools, gyms, entertainment parks, social, political religious and other large congregation shall remain prohibited till 31 July in the state, reports ANI.

Minister of Railways says it will expand to 350 local trains in Mumbai from Wednesday, ANI reports.
As identified by the State government, essential staff including employees of Centre, IT, GST, Customs, Postal, Nationalised Banks, MBPT, Judiciary, Defence and Raj Bhavan will be allowed to use the services, says railways.
